Gate start coaching
For many in the northern hemisphere it’s the off-season for BMX racing.
Some riders have just hung up their bikes until things thaw out in the spring.
But others are hungry to get better.
To fix weaknesses.
To learn new skills.
I want to work with those people.
I’m looking to work one-on-one with a few riders that want to really dig into the finer points of their starts.
Try to help them understand what is holding them back.
This will not be the typical coaching advice you would receive from a clinic or a YouTube video.
I’ve spent a lot of time studying what the pros are doing that you are not.
If you want to fast track your learning, I think I can help you.
If you are getting frustrated by training hard but still not getting the lead into the first turn, I want to help.
If you are serious and want to learn more, please reach out by replying to this email.
How coaching with me will work
You sign up and we will begin with a comprehensive movement assessment off the bike. I want to see how your limbs move. How you create power. Find your potential restrictions.
I will review video of your gates and sprints from several angles.
We will establish some key performance indicators to help us know if we are moving in the right direction.
We will come up with a custom plan on how to begin to develop more efficient technique through specific mobility, bodyweight and/or strength training exercises if necessary.
We will incorporate special sprint drills into your program to help develop proper technique even without going to the track.
You will get frequent feedback on your technique to help you improve quicker.
You will learn what to look for when assessing your own technique.
Please reach out if you have any questions.
